How to fix your Squarespace Instagram feed

Why is my Instagram block no longer syncing?

It can happen from time to time if you’ve changed your password or when Squarespace updates its API. At the time of writing this, Squarespace is rolling out a lot of changes to 7.1 so it’s good to be aware of this fix and check your Instagram block regularly.

This blog post sets out exactly how to fix your Squarespace Instagram feed pronto!

How to fix your Squarespace Instagram feed

Step 1: In the Squarespace admin panel go to Settings > Connected Accounts

Step 2: Click authenticate on your Instagram account

Step 3: Reauthorise your Instagram account

Note, if the wrong Instagram account is showing up, make sure you are logged out of Instagram in other browser tabs.

Step 4: Reset your Instagram data

Click on your Instagram account again. Ensure that “Download Data” is ticked and select “Reset Data” then “Save.”

Step 5: Refresh the page

In a separate browser tab, go to your live website and check the live page which contains your Instagram feed (you might need to refresh your browser tab if it was previously open). Your Instagram feed should now pull down your missing Instagram posts. If it still hasn’t been updated with new posts, you’ll need to continue to step 6.

Step 6: Update the Instagram feed block

In the Squarespace administration panel go to pages and select the page with the broken Instagram feed block.

Select “edit” page and scroll until you see your Instagram block. Double click anywhere on your feed (or empty grey post squares) to edit the block settings. Select your Instagram account from the dropdown and press save.

FYI - The Squarespace Instagram feed block updates every 30 minutes.
